Custom Wedding Jewelry and Gifts
When it comes to your wedding day, it's all about the details. For many, it starts with a date and a venue, followed by the dress, flowers, food and music. Another one of those important details is gifts for your wedding party and loved ones to have in remembrance of your special day. In my opinion, the perfect bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts are handmade, often one-of-a-kind, unique items that can be worn not only on your wedding day, but for years to come!
My husband and business partner, Trey, and I wed in the spring of 2014 in Park City, Utah. Being a jewelry designer, one of my favorite details was of course the handmade wedding gifts. The groomsmen were given custom handcrafted cufflinks. One cufflink was made with a portion of a Park City map, while the other represented where the groomsman was from. Trey is not usually a cufflink type guy, but I often find him reaching for his handmade cufflinks these days when he has to put on his formal attire. These gifts were unique for our wedding, yet continue to be worn by our friends today. Even guys appreciate a one-of-kind handmade gift.
When it came to the perfect handmade bridesmaid gifts, the answer was easy for me--jewelry! I decided earrings would be something each girl would enjoy, yet not take away from the dresses, flowers, etc. My wedding colors were pastels and neutrals, so I wanted the gemstones used in the earrings to be similar. Each earring design was similar, yet unique in style. I was thrilled to give my bridesmaids handcrafted wedding jewelry that made a statement on my wedding day, yet was simple enough to be worn with other outfits for years to come. I love being reminded of our fun wedding memories when I see them wearing the earrings today!
As the bride, I could not resist having a handmade wedding day accessory as well! I found a vintage rhinestone brooch and re-made it into a hair comb to wear in place of a veil. Once again, it's all about what makes your wedding day special and unique to you- the details!
