About

MARY GARRETT, owner/designer/creator

Thriving on all things creative and handmade, Little Rock native, Mary Garrett, has found her niche in the jewelry industry.  Her work emphasizes the beauty of mixed metals and texture while incorporating semi-precious gemstones.

After growing up in Little Rock and earning a degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Mary decided to venture west to Park City, Utah, where she lived for 4 years. While living out west, Mary embraced the outdoors and learned that happiness is not something you achieve, yet something you experience.  This simple, yet effective way of life drove Mary to pursue her future in jewelry making.

In 2012, Mary moved back to Arkansas, and began working in the retail and service industries.  She longed for an artistic outlet and the desire to create was stronger than ever.  Mary enrolled in a metalsmithing class at the Arkansas Art Center and began her venture, taking her skill set to the next level.

She began promoting her line across Arkansas and quickly built a following within the state.  This positive feedback led to her wholesale debut in 2017.  Within the first year, she made appearances at The Fashion Industry Gallery and The World Trade Center in Dallas, as well as much success at AmericasMart in Atlanta.  The company looks forward to continued success and expansion in other parts of the country.

Mary Garrett Jewelry combines classic style with modern rustic flare. All pieces are handcrafted in her historic Hillcrest neighborhood home studio in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her work represents hand-formed, soldered and hammered shapes made of jewelers brass and sterling silver. Her studio space is adorned with spools of wire, mandrels, texturing hammers and the latest in chain design and gemstone findings. She finds inspiration in natural elements and often incorporates greens and blues into her designs. Gemstone favorites include labradorite, kynite, pyrite, and turquoise.

Mary Garrett Jewelry has been grateful to be a part of the local art community in Arkansas, as well as features in The Scout Guide Little Rock, Soiree, The Arkansas Times, Northwest Arkansas CitiScapes, Good Morning Arkansas and more.
